This is one that can be enjoyed by kids of all ages. The pictures are nice and big, and the backgrounds not too complicated. Each of the twelve Chinese Zodiac signs are pictured in order, plus a two page centerfold design using the signs, and two other single page designs, all these picturing the animals in their correct order. In addition, the centerfold design gives the corresponding years for each sign, dating from 1948 to 2019. We are in the Year of the Horse, and I was born in the Year of the Ram.
When I worked on the Sun Signs Stained Glass Coloring Book, which is the traditional zodiac, I set my coloring scheme so that all pages would use the same medium—acrylics and metallic acrylics. In this one I went opposite—each page was done with at least two different mediums, one for the animal and one for the background, and each was a different combination. They turned out very cool, and I had a hard time choosing which to display. Here are the six I chose:
Rat: Crayola Watercolors and Metallic Pencil
Tiger: Metallic Acrylics and Gel Pen
Dragon: Gel Pen and Marker
Snake: Marker and Gel Pen
Monkey: Watercolor Pencil, Marker, and Metallic Marker
Rooster: Metallic Acrylics, Metallic Pencil, and Pencil
