Dover Book with CD-ROM

Text Box with description of Book

I enjoy exploring different styles of architecture, and the Dover library certainly provides a wealth of architectural books. The Victorian era is one of my favorites, and this collection contains a nice mix of styles within that period, both in color and some in black and white, in addition to various trims, woodwork, and accessories. There are residential houses, and townhouse apartments and other city buildings included, so there is much useful potential here. And of course, the Dover Design Manager program that runs the CD-ROMs enables you to manipulate the images in numerous ways. One such example that I used is the background for The Haunted House, by Charles Dickens. I enlarged and distorted a black and white image to look wavy and was able to create a fitting background to set off that book review. I also change my desktop wallpaper frequently using the artwork found in these Dover collections.

As always, I have tried to include a wide range of examples here to give readers an idea of what the book contains. You may mouse-over any image for its number on the CD-ROM and page number in the book. Enjoy these cool pictures!
