Dover Book and CD-ROM

Text Box with description of Book

This absolutely gorgeous collection of great works of art covers a wide realm of subject matter within the topic of "fantasy." Some are dark and creepy, others are angelic, mythological, or dealing with folklore. Some appear as pure fantasy, and others seem amazingly real. Each work includes the name of the artist and painting, date, medium and size. I have included examples from many styles to represent the treasures found here. And as always, you may mouse-over any image to obtain the number on the CD-ROM where it is located.

Here are the works of art in the order they appear on this page:

Young Priestess— Adolphe William Bouguereau
The Accolade—Edmund Blair Leighton
Tristan and Isolde—John Duncan
Fairy Twilight—John Anster Fitzgerald
The Briar Rose: The Rose Bower—Edward Burne-Jones
Earthbound—Evelyn de Morgan
A Mermaid—John William Waterhouse
