Dover Coloring Book

Text Box with description of Book

I really love these Dover abstract design coloring books. I own nearly all of them, and have completed a good many and enjoyed them all. Every once in a while one comes along that just outshines the rest, and this book is an example. Many design books make use of repeated patterns, but the difference here is that the motifs are very small, so they are repeated more numerously than larger patterns. This opened up some real doors to creativity, which allowed me to vary the colors by rows (up, down, or diagonal) or vary the color of just part of the motif. One I even did using random rainbow colors (no.6) and that turned out to be my favorite. (There are no page numbers in this book, but it is the second one pictured.) Because the patterns are so busy, it also helps to leave part of them uncolored to accentuate the other spaces.
