Dover Coloring Book

Text Box with description of book

This was one of the first Dover coloring books I did as an adult, and it still remains one of my top three favorites. The shells and their surroundings are beautifully rendered, along with the name of the shell(s) and geographical location. Many colored pictures are on the covers, or you can do web research to see more examples if you wish to color them accurately. Whatever you do, these pictures provide hours of enjoyment. I learned so much from this book, and I still return to it to admire my artwork.
As you can see, this is yet another coloring book that gave me a difficult time choosing which pictures to present because they are all so interesting. I finally settled on the following, trying to choose a variety of types of shells and locations.

Blue Mussels, Waved Whelk

Fighting Stromb and Other Shells

Indo-Pacific Shells
