When I was working on my Bachelor of Music Degree, I also helped make costumes for the theater department because I enjoyed sewing. I loved period costumes, especially Renaissance because they are so gorgeous. In this book, Tierney covers from 1400 to 1550, and includes costumes of Italy, France, Germany, and England. He also covers the whole range of social levels, from peasants to royalty and everything in between, (including some "naughty" Italian courtesans!). As can be expected with Tierney, he has done lots of research, and provides detailed descriptions with each picture. And, as typical with his fashion books, Tierney has included pages of shoes and accessories. I have found that if you do those individual items a few at a time, rather than doing a whole page at once, it keeps your brain fresh and creative. An excellent book!
